2 STEPS from Copper Notes…
A little gem is the Piazzetta Garibaldi which now houses Note di Rame and where in 1889 Paolo Soprani opened the first industrial laboratory of small accordions. In 1924 it was demolished the ancient church of S.S. Lucia and Abbondio to give space to the aqueduct of the village that still dominates the center of the square.
150 STEPS
Among the most important squares of Castelfidardo there is Piazzale Don Minzoni, also commonly called Porta Marina. It is the true balcony of the city that overlooks a hilly landscape as far as the eye can see up to the nearby sea. Characteristic the famous arch, one of the main access roads to the city and the underlying pavement recently brought to light.
200 STEPS
Piazza della Repubblica is the main square of the city, overlooking the town hall and the church of Santo Stefano with a baroque style bell tower. It preserves an important organ of the 700 and a beautiful crypt.
The Town Hall also houses the international accordion museum, the musical instrument that has had in the city of Castelfidardo, for over a century, the major production center. The collection is made up of about 350 pieces, all different from each other. From the simple observation of the instruments and the photographic panels, it is possible to follow the evolutionary phases of the accordion, the classification, and the characters that made it famous.
500 STEPS
The National Monument of the Marches, in memory of the Battle of Castelfidardo , by the Venetian sculptor Vito Pardo. It is located near the historic center, on the hill of Monte Cucco, and it was made of bronze (about 150 quintals of bronze and almost six thousand quintals of travertine of Ascoli) to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the battle of 18 September 1860. It is, in its kind, the most impressive monument among those of the Italian territory.

La Selva di Castelfidardo, a forest that covers the northern slope of the hill of Monte Oro, is a unique natural heritage in Europe. It is characterized by a particular microclimate both hot and arid (in the highest area), and cooler and humid (in the lower area) with consequent biological diversity. It is managed by the Ferretti Foundation and has been offering guided tours and itineraries for families and groups for more than ten years.
